Meet Steve

Steve's passion for stock trading is evident the moment you start speaking with him. His enthusiastic and easygoing way of explaining the stock market led to lots of friends & family asking ...

        "Hey, could you teach me how to do this sometime?"

...and Rookie Trades was born.

My Story

Steve Hoffner has extensive experience in the field of education, teaching and training. He manages the training of hundreds of people for a major NYC agency. He got his start teaching in a New York City middle school classroom where he perfected the art of keeping things clear, concise and easy to understand... all while cracking jokes and having fun.

Stock trading started for him as hobby. A way to have fun and make a few extra dollars on top of an already busy career. It quickly turned into his passion (his wife, would say obsession). After taking dozens of classes and private lessons for the last ten years, he found that he was also really good at explaining in a way that anyone could understand. Rookie Trades started with a small circle of friends and family stopping by the house for lessons. It felt like being back in that middle school classroom - when it comes down to it, stocks are simple math and patterns that anyone can do ... even his six year old who loves to snuggle up on a Saturday morning and draw lines on Dad's charts.

Steve loves that stock trading gives him the freedom to bring in extra income for his family without taking away huge chunks of time working a second job. It gives him time for working out, traveling the world and most importantly, spending quality time with his wife and two young sons.

I went into the world of investing not having a clue about anything in it. Weeks later, that changed entirely because of Rookies Trades.
Taking this course provided me the foundational knowledge for how I can allocate my money in the short-term and the long as well.
Steve is an exceptional trader, but an even more exceptional teacher. He is incredibly driven to help his students understand the material and feel both completely and unequivocally comfortable with the material before advancing through each phase of this course. Aside from that, he is very generous with his time, often taking time beyond the duration of classes and outside of it to answer any questions or go over anything that didn’t originally click with you and need just a little more time on.
And if that doesn’t speak enough about the quality of this course, the material, time and dedicated instruction should cost FAR more than you’ll be charged for.

MUST DO
Steve is so easy to understand and makes all aspects of the material engaging. Learning stocks with him not only makes me understand every aspect of trading, but makes me excited for each lesson. Using his techniques and back trading allows you to see it work in an unrehearsed manner further showing how great the classes are. GREAT INTRODUCTION
Rookie Trades class is a great introduction to trading. It's not difficult to follow. The course is 6 weeks and around a hour long. Steve (presenter) is great at explaining his material and making sure you understand what's covered. I recommend this course to anyone who want to understand trading and stocks. You also have to practice what's taught in order to really grasp the info provided.     - Patrick W.
